Studio LCB: Lutz Seiler
Literarisches Colloquium Berlin, Germany

Lutz Seiler has a fondness for animals - foxes, goats, cockroaches appear as messengers of the surreal. In his new novel "Das tickende Herz" (Suhrkamp), we encounter Dodo again, the twilight-active, pasta-eating goat from "Stern 111", the emblem of the hero. But above all, it is about the shaman Aysha from Kazakhstan, who nearly drives Carl Bischoff mad: he follows her across half of Europe until he lands on the Kazakh steppe - on an atomic testing ground where Aysha's clan wants to make a sacrifice to save the world.
About this hero and his deep confusion, Lutz Seiler speaks with Sandra Kegel (culture editor of FAZ) and Peter Richter (culture editor of Süddeutscher Zeitung).
