Erobique with Lucas Kochbeck on Drums - Simply The Best

Carsten "Erobique" Meyer is his own genre - after 25 years of watching every disco-revival bus pass him by and come back again, there's no other way to put it. When word spreads in the big cities that Erobique is in town, dance-hungry people aged 18 to 80 look forward to sweaty, almost sacred hours filled with improvised disco licks and shocking vocal performances. At the piano, he breathes new life into immortal classics from techno, schlager, and boogie woogie; Lucas Kochbeck accompanies him on drums.

As the self-proclaimed last discopunk of Germany (for now), the "living disco ball" (FAZ) disrupts the monotony of beat-mixed laptop-DJ culture - through sweat-drenched dance marathons, spontaneous ballad interludes, and wildly quoted wedding oldies. Releases are rare (Asexy, Acid Jazz, and others); his hits like "Urlaub in Italien", "Easy Mobeasy", and "Überdosis Freude" demand to be experienced live and in color.

From 7 p.m., the Wolfsburg DJ duo Indie.Disko.Gehn. warms up the crowd with an end-of-day set.
