Aalkreih
Speicher Husum, Germany
23 €
Aalkreih from Flensburg blends folk, country and rock elements with lyrics in Low German. The five musicians come from punk and hardcore backgrounds, but with this project have deliberately turned toward a more acoustic sound world - featuring traditional influences, modern arrangements, and songs that range from thoughtful to humorous, always in Low German.
At Speicher Husum they present their new album "Bongsiel". The band is deeply rooted in North Frisia thematically - their last Husum show was a long time ago.
Line-up: Thomas Gerri Christiansen (vocals, guitar, guitar-banjo), Marvin Opitz (guitar), Gerrit Andresen (guitar, Irish Bouzouki, harmonica), Timo Neuwerk (bass), Frithjoff Albrecht (drums)
Support: posthuman from Flensburg. The band draws deep from the postpunk/dark-wave arsenal of the eighties - with references to New Model Army, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy and Pink Turns Blue. Time to dust off that black t-shirt.
