Investigative Comedy
Magic is when you laugh anyway

Thomas Fröschle, known as TOPAS, ranks among the world's most successful German illusionists: two-time world champion in illusion, winner of the Golden Magic Wand from Monaco, and for 30 years a member of the elite Top Ten Club of the world's greatest magicians. London, Paris, Monte Carlo, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Beijing, Yokohama - his performances have made him famous worldwide.

In recent years, Fröschle has performed primarily as a cabaret artist and comedian in Germany. Instead of black magic, he relies on black humour - sharp-tongued, quick-witted, never short of a punchline. He proved this by winning the 8th Hamburg Comedy Poker, Germany's largest comedy and cabaret competition.

He masters the balancing act between stand-up comedy, improvisation, and magic with technical virtuosity: on the cabaret stage he acts with the surprise effects of a magician, while performing magic tricks he presents himself with the nonchalance of a comedian. As a comedian, he dissects the absurdities of everyday life and explains psychological tricks - seemingly effortlessly, gag after gag.
