The Festival Barrio | Bairro Berlin brings together voices of contemporary Latin American literature from around the world. At the LCB, it hosts a symposium (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and an evening reading from 7:30 p.m.
The evening centres on LCB guest author Dahlia de la Cerda: the Mexican writer has made a splash with "Reservoir Bitches" (translated from Spanish by Johanna Malcher, Culturbooks, 2025), a feminist "novel in stories". Also reading are Luisa Futoransky, an Argentine writer and poet based in Paris; Claudia Ulloa Donoso, a Peruvian author living in Norway; and Ariel Maceo Téllez, a Cuban exile poet currently residing in Düsseldorf. The evening is moderated by José F. A. Oliver.
The event takes place in Spanish and German. The full festival programme is available at www.barrioberlin.de. Registration for the free symposium (10 a.m.): info@barrioberlin.de.
In collaboration with Barrio | Bairro Berlin, with support from Hauptstadtkulturfonds and PEN Deutschland.
