About: Joseph von Eichendorff

Joseph von Eichendorff (1788–1857) was a German poet and writer, one of the most important figures of German Romanticism. His lyrical poetry, rich in nature imagery and wanderlust, inspired composers such as Robert Schumann, who set many of his poems to music in the song cycle Liederkreis op. 39.
