About: Lizz Wright

A preacher's daughter from rural Georgia, Wright built her reputation on a gospel-rooted contralto that moves freely between jazz, soul, and folk - Salt (2003) put her on the Billboard jazz charts, and her 2024 independent release Shadow shows her still at the height of her craft.
