About: UK Subs

One of the last bands standing from Britain's original 1976 punk scene, U.K. Subs built their reputation on relentless touring and a run of UK chart hits that stretched from 'Stranglehold' to 'Crash Course'. Frontman Charlie Harper, now in his eighties, still leads the band on stage.

Three members of the band - bassist Alvin Gibbs, guitarist Marc Carrey and drummer Stefan Häublein - were detained at LAX on 19 March 2025 and deported back to the UK; vocalist Charlie Harper was admitted and performed at LA Punk Invasion with stand-in musicians.
