Rigoletto - Theater und Philharmonie Essen

Verdi's Rigoletto comes to Essen on Saturday, 10 October 2026 at the Aalto-Theater. This is one of four German performances of the opera. The Aalto-Theater, designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto and opened in 1988, is the city's principal opera house and home to the Aalto Musiktheater ensemble. The building is recognized as a masterpiece of modernist architecture. Theater und Philharmonie Essen has prepared a classical interpretation of this work, one of the most celebrated operas in the world repertoire.
