THE DEAD SOUTH - WORLDTOUR 2026

The Dead South play on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, as part of SommerMusik Schloss Rheydt on the open-air stage in Mönchengladbach. The Canadian band from Regina, Saskatchewan, ranks among the best-known folk-bluegrass acts in the world, with over 70 million YouTube views of their hit "In Hell I'll Be in Good Company".

Their sound is built on rapid banjo rolls, mandolin tremolos and three-part harmonies. The songs often tackle dark subject matter - murder ballads, infidelity, ghost stories - always delivered with a wink. Critics have called them "the evil twins of Mumford & Sons".

With albums "Good Company", "Illusion & Doubt" and the Juno Award-winning "Sugar & Joy", the band has won fans on every continent. "The Dead South manage to bring a traditionally rooted genre to the stage in a way that feels so fresh, powerful and current that it wins over people who've never given bluegrass a second thought," says promoter Günter vom Dorp.
