Lift - Rockballaden - Am Abend mancher Tage — Kulturkirche St. Jakobi Stralsund, Stralsund

Few formations in German music history can boast as loyal a fanbase as LIFT, the band founded in 1973 in Dresden. The musicians of LIFT have mastered the art of combining melodic rock with lyrical lyrics in a way that is rare among German bands. Both in their studio productions and especially in live performances, you feel the power of music that has matured over the years and has lost none of its dynamism. In their first seven years, the band produced the albums "LIFT" and "Meeresfahrt". Songs such as "Wasser und Wein", "Abendstunde", "Nach Süden", "Meeresfahrt" and "Tagesreise" remain a permanent fixture in LIFT's performances.

1978 was a tragic year in the band's history - founder Gerhard Zachar and singer Henry Pacholski died in an accident during a tour of Poland. From these dramatic events emerged the song "Am Abend mancher Tage", which in 1980 became the hit of the year in East Germany and appeared on the album "Spiegelbild" released in 1981. Since 2019, LIFT has been presenting a church programme under the title "Am Abend mancher Tage" together with former singers of the Dresden Kreuzchor.

The band currently performs in the lineup: Werther Lohse (vocals), Andreas Leuschner (keyboards, vocals), Markus Christ (drums), Jacob Müller (bass guitar, cello). Occasionally, former Kreuzchor singers Alexander Rau, Moritz Schlenstedt, Lucas Reis and Elias Riemenschneider join in.

Since 2023, the band has also been performing as "Sachsendreier" together with Stern-Combo Meissen and Karussell. In 2023, LIFT celebrated 50 years of stage history with a concert at Dresden's Frauenkirche.
