About

Lift is a rock band from Dresden, founded in 1973. They built a loyal following with melodic rock and lyrical German-language songs - a combination rare among German bands of their era. The group suffered a heavy blow in 1978 when founder Gerhard Zachar and singer Henry Pacholski died in a tragic accident during a tour in Poland, yet the band carried on. Songs like „Wasser und Wein" and „Meeresfahrt" remain fixtures of their live sets to this day.
