Four friends have been meeting once a month for dinner since their school days, always with their partners. This time they are guests of plastic surgeon Rocco and his wife, psychoanalyst Eva. The food is delicious, the wine flows freely. The only pity is that Peppe didn't bring his new partner. The friends were eager to meet her. When they discuss their absent friend Diego, whose marriage fell apart because of a secret affair revealed by SMS, Eva remarks: "Who knows how many couples would break up if one partner could look into the other's phone?" The smartphone is, after all, the black box of life, storing all secrets. Since the friends claim they would have no problem revealing the contents of their phones, Eva proposes a game: all smartphones go on the table face up. Every message is read aloud, calls are heard, every WhatsApp is shown. What begins as harmless fun quickly turns into emotional chaos - full of surprising twists and delicate revelations. In what seemed like a perfect circle of friends, there are far more secrets and life lies than anyone expected.
"Each of us has three lives: a private one, a public one, and a secret one," Paolo Genovese opens his play with this line. The comedy is based on the Italian film "Perfetti Sconosciuti" from 2016, which was a huge success in Italy. It was remade in over 18 countries and came to German cinemas in 2019. Soon the material conquered the theatrical stages and has been a theatre hit in German-speaking countries since 2021.
The Youngsters, winners of the Hessian Youth Theatre Prize, want to create another remarkable production after Sebastian Fitzek's "Seelenbrecher". David Löll and Anna-Juli
