Four friends have been meeting once a month for dinner since their school days, this time at the home of plastic surgeon Rocco and his wife, psychoanalyst Eva. The food is delicious, the wine flows freely, but Peppe has not brought his new partner. As the friends discuss absent Diego, whose marriage fell apart due to infidelity revealed in an SMS, Eva remarks: "Who knows how many couples would break up if they could look into each other's phones?" The phone is the black box of life, storing all our secrets. The friends claim they have no problem revealing the contents of their phones, so Eva proposes a game: all smartphones go on the table, screen-side up. Every message is read aloud, every call heard together, each WhatsApp shown. What begins as harmless fun quickly spirals into emotional chaos - full of surprising twists and delicate revelations. In this seemingly perfect circle of friends, there are far more secrets and life-lies than anyone expected.
"Each of us has three lives: a private one, a public one, and a secret one" - with these words Paolo Genovese introduces his play. The comedy is based on the Italian film "Perfetti Sconosciuti" from 2016, which was a huge success in Italy. It was remade in over 18 countries and reached German cinemas in 2019. The material soon conquered the stage and has been a theatre hit in German-speaking countries since 2021.
