A tribute to the Scottish superband RunRig

RunRig were one of Scotland's most successful bands, building a devoted following not only at home but also in Denmark and Germany, where several of their singles and albums reached the top of the charts. The Scottish Celtic rock band was founded in 1973 on the Isle of Skye and went on to release fourteen studio albums, with some songs sung in Scottish Gaelic.

Their music is often described as a blend of folk and rock, with lyrics that frequently explore places, history, politics and people uniquely tied to Scotland. This deep connection to tradition - both in the music and in lyrics that sometimes draw on Gaelic poetry - is what sets RunRig apart and explains the lasting pull of their work. Few bands have managed to weave a country's identity into their music as seamlessly as RunRig did.
