Hillu's Herzdropfa - "Ächde Älbler"

Hiltrud Stoll and Franz Auber, familiar faces from radio and TV, are taking their new show "Ächde Älbler" on tour through the Swabian heartland.

For Hillus Herzdropfa, the motto coined by Thaddäus Troll holds true: "A Swabian is whoever speaks Swabian." The Schwobaländle is not a politically defined federal state but a cultural region - a territory where people share a common way of life. That includes Swabian thriftiness (S' Salz von dr Brezel reiba, dass dr Bsuach koin Durscht griagt!), Spätzla in every conceivable form, Maultaschen prepared every which way - gschmelzt, endr Briah, mit Oi, even vegan - and a glass of cider: "Ein guter Most heilt jeden Schmerz, er ist des Schwaben Perle. Der Wein erfreut des Menschen Herz, d'r Moscht da ganza Kerle!"

What else defines a true Älbler is what the show sets out to reveal. Hillus Herzdropfa - genuine Älbler themselves - know everything about these highland folk and what else goes on up on the Alb. Speaking in dialect is a point of honour for them. A small taste of the Alb-Swabian dialect: Zirengga? Schdriggjäggle? Aurawai? Soidawieschd?
