To stop a terrorist from crashing a hijacked passenger jet into the packed Allianz Arena, Bundeswehr pilot Lars Koch shoots the plane down against orders - 164 people die so that 70,000 might live.

The Berlin criminal court must now decide: is Koch guilty of murder? The defense argues he made a calculated choice that saved thousands of lives. The prosecution counters that Koch not only disobeyed orders but violated the fundamental dignity of the passengers - who also had a right to life.

The verdict is delivered by the audience: at the end of the performance, the public votes on the defendant's guilt or innocence.
