Shakespeares Hamlet* - Das Rockmusical

Hamlet mourns his father, the King of Denmark. Shortly after his death, his mother marries the king's brother Claudius, who thereby claims the throne himself. When Hamlet learns that Claudius allegedly murdered his father, he sets his mind on revenge - caught between social convention, his love for Ophelia, and doubt over whether vengeance is the right path.

Opernwerkstatt am Rhein brings Shakespeare's tragedy to the stage with a 15-strong ensemble and a live band: original texts collide with rock and pop hits from Supertramp to Adele, courtly dance meets hip hop, and modern stage design pairs with elaborate steampunk costumes.
