A Christmas Carol - After Charles Dickens with Samuel Finzi and Herbert Knaup
Das K - Kultur- und Kongresszentrum, Kornwestheim, Germany
Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is one of the most beloved literary works of the Advent season. It tells the story of the bitter miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by four ghosts on Christmas Eve and rediscovers his humanity. A timeless plea for compassion and empathy.
Director Martin Mühleis brings this socially critical classic to the stage as a theatrical reading with live music. Actors Samuel Finzi and Herbert Knaup breathe life into the characters and lend the story a distinctive charm. Created in collaboration with composer Libor Síma, the production is a stage fairy tale in the style of old black-and-white films, drawing on elements of literary revue. Throughout, the focus remains firmly on Dickens' novella itself, brought to life all the more vividly through music and performance.
