Westpfälzisches Sinfonieorchester - Herbstkonzert 2026

The Kusel orchestra was founded back in 1889. Its regular ensemble of around 30 musicians includes music teachers, dedicated amateurs, working professionals, retirees, and students with strong instrumental skills.

For several years the orchestra has maintained a partnership with the Orchesterverein Idar-Oberstein. At least two programmes are rehearsed each year - one for the traditional open-air serenade concert at Lichtenberg Castle, and this season again the Herbstkonzert at the Fritz-Wunderlich-Halle as part of the cultural programme.

Since 2026 the orchestra has been conducted by Andréa Huguenin Botelho.

Andréa Huguenin Botelho is a conductor, pianist, composer and cultural curator whose work is defined by artistic rigour and a clear international profile. Active in orchestral and chamber music settings, she is known for building programmes with a strong narrative identity - often centred on composers from different eras - and for forging collaborations that bring together repertoire, research and contemporary cultural dialogue.
