30 years Cover up

Pforzheim band Cover Up celebrates its 30th anniversary on 14 November 2026 at the CongressCentrum Pforzheim. Since the mid-nineties, the group has stood for a different kind of cover band - one that never settled for simply playing other people's songs. Instead, classics were taken apart like a racing car in a mechanic's workshop, then reassembled and put back on stage with a healthy dose of the band's own attitude.

What started in 1996 as more of a side project quickly grew into a fixture of the southern German live music scene. Cover Up have since played city festivals, clubs and festival stages with a repertoire ranging from rock icons to pop evergreens, always carrying their unmistakable band sound: punchy, direct and sometimes with a necessary wink.

After 30 years, the live experience is still what drives the band. While some cover acts glide through their sets polished and predictable, Cover Up bet on spontaneity - extended guitar and keyboard solos, surprise song mashups and a deliberate closeness with the crowd that feels more like a sweaty garage club show than a routine nostalgia set.

For the 30th anniversary, the band looks back with pleasure and plans a special jubilee show with many guests from the band's long history, plus a setlist digging through more than three decades of rock and pop - loud, passionate and always ready to turn the next gig into something that sticks.
