Anniversary Theatre "The Springs of Bad Mergentheim" - Theatre Premiere

200 years of springs. 100 years of "Bad". In 2026, Bad Mergentheim celebrates two major milestones: the discovery of healing springs by shepherd Franz Gehrig in 1826 and the bestowal of the "Bad" designation one hundred years ago.

The city and spa administration are organizing a joint anniversary year featuring events, cultural programmes, and special productions - the spa park takes centre stage as a venue for history, health, and the future.

A cornerstone of the programme is a theatrical play created specifically for this anniversary, which the spa administration presents together with StudioBÜHNE of the Bad Mergentheim Cultural Association. "The Springs of Bad Mergentheim - A Journey Through Time and the Art of Healing" tells the curious story of a shepherd's discovery, heated debates in the town hall, elegant spa society gatherings, and visions of the future - with humour, music, and surprising scenes.
