MÜNCHENER FREIHEIT
Unterwegs - Kult Hits Live

With their signature blend of multi-part harmonies, catchy melodies and rock-driven rhythms, Münchener Freiheit ranks among Germany's most successful pop bands. On Friday, 25 September 2026 at 20:00, their cult hits - "Ohne Dich (schlaf ich heut Nacht nicht ein)", "Tausendmal Du" and "So lang' man Träume noch leben kann" - will shake the Regentenbau in Bad Kissingen and send fans into a reverie.

During the German music revolution known as NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle), named after a café in Munich's Schwabing district, vocalist and keyboardist Stefan Zauner and guitarist Aron Strobel took their first big step into the music business in 1981. Michael Kunzi (bass and vocals), Alexander Grünwald (keyboards) and Renard Henry Hatzke (drums) soon joined them. Since 2011, singer Tim Wilhelm has fronted the band - and with new songs alongside their classics, the group shows that their music has lost none of its appeal.

Early in their career, Münchener Freiheit celebrated their first successes with the album "Umsteiger" (1982) and "Licht" (1983). The single "Oh Baby" brought their first real chart breakthrough, and at the end of 1985 "Ohne dich (schlaf ich heut Nacht nicht ein)" spent several weeks in the German charts, reaching number one in both Austria and Switzerland. Subsequent hits - "Tausendmal du", "Herz aus Glas" and "Bis wir uns wiedersehn" - put the band at the top of charts in Norway, Sweden, Finland, France, Spain and the Netherlands.
