Manfred Mann's Earth Band has been making music history for more than five decades and still commands a massive following around the globe.
The band's roots go back to the early 1960s. In 1962, a 22-year-old Manfred Mann formed his first group and simply gave it his own name. Chart success followed quickly. By the end of the decade, though, pop stardom was no longer enough for the ambitious musician. After a few years out of the spotlight, he launched the Earth Band - and went on to achieve even greater things. The distinctive blend of rock and jazz elements won over fans worldwide.
Manfred Mann put his unmistakable stamp on other artists' material. The Earth Band's takes on Bob Dylan's "Blinded By The Light" and "Mighty Quinn", among many others, have long since become classics in their own right. And what this top-calibre lineup delivers on stage still puts the Earth Band firmly in the top tier.
Current lineup: Manfred Mann (keyboards, vocals), Mick Rogers (guitar, vocals), Steve Kinch (bass), John Lingwood (drums) and Robert Hart (vocals).
