DIE HERKULESKEULE - Dresden's Cabaret Theatre - Only the Tough Make It to the Garden!
Bürgersaal Waren, Germany
28 €
Hot on the heels of their summer hit DIE ERDE HAT EINE SCHEIBE, the HERKULESKEULE ensemble is back in the allotment garden - with new texts and songs, but the same old attitude: against the grain, sparing no one's feelings from left to right, against thought-policing and for peace!
With six left hands, a blunt spade and a sharp tongue, three cabaret performers argue over one burning question: is it still worth planting a tree in this world? Or should they dig a bunker instead - shelter from left-wing fantasies of saving the planet and right-wing fantasies about the people, from speech bans, from the exclusion of anyone who dares to think differently from a press that has voluntarily started to sound the same? Or is all of this just a smokescreen in a new battle over wealth distribution between rich and poor? The trio digs into the murky depths of opinion-making, unearthing the absurd and the contradictory. What is still worth believing in? What is still worth fighting for? Tree or bunker? Future or foxhole?
HERKULESKEULE doesn't offer answers. Laughing at the world and mocking themselves - that's what these performers do best, representing a cabaret tradition stretching back over 60 years. Expect rock music, sharp satire and plenty of heat. The great allotment summer of HERKULESKEULE rolls into its second chapter.
