Following a large symphonic concert in the morning, the anniversary day of the Landesjugendsinfonieorchester Hessen draws to a close with this afternoon chamber concert. The hosted programme bridges generations and looks back over five decades of the ensemble's history.

At its heart is a narrated journey through time, guiding the audience across fifty years of orchestral life. Between the musical works, anecdotes and retrospectives shed light on the LJSO's development from its founding in 1976 to the present day.

On stage are outstanding ensembles with close ties to the orchestra's history. The award-winning Amelio Trio - three former LJSO members - returns to its roots for this anniversary. A further highlight is Felix Mendelssohn's String Octet, performed by current LJSO members alongside alumni who now play in the Frankfurter Oper- und Museumsorchester and teach at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt.
