Cliff Stevens
Contemporary Blues-Rock
Cliff Stevens, a blues-rock guitarist with British-Scottish roots based in Montreal, has led a fascinating life filled with music. From an early age, he showed great interest in music, and his remarkable guitar playing quickly brought him popularity among his peers. Inspired by influential guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, and Rory Gallagher, Stevens embarked on a journey to develop his own sound and style.
Stevens experienced the highs and lows that many musicians encounter throughout their careers. He spent years performing in various bands and playing concerts of all sizes - from small gigs to massive crowds at the prestigious Montreal International Jazz Festival. Yet the demanding lifestyle of constant touring, combined with the temptations of alcohol and drugs, ultimately led Stevens to a bold decision. He chose to step back from touring life and pursue a more stable career as a taxi driver, which he did for a considerable time. During this period of reflection and personal struggle, he found the strength to become sober in 1998.
Revitalized by his recovery and driven by gratitude, Stevens turned his attention to songwriting and launched a solo career. Since then, he has graced the stages of prestigious festivals such as the Tremblant International Blues Festival, Eutin Bluesfest, and Vienna Blues Spring, captivating audiences across Canada, Europe, Mexico, and Morocco. In 2014, he had the opportunity to open for legendary rockers Wishbone Ash on their European tour, further cementing his reputation as a remarkable musician.
Throughout his journey, Stevens has released several notable albums.
