"Face of the zero hour", "the unspoiled girl from the rubble", "the second Dietrich" - Hildegard Knef was given many labels. But who was the woman really, the one who built not one but three careers: as an actress, a chanson singer, and an author?

Through her texts and songs, this production paints a picture of Knef as someone who never settled for the ordinary, lived a life of extremes, and whose refusal to conform always put her ahead of her time. She died in Berlin in 2002, aged 76.
