Jim Knopf and Lukas the Engine Driver - theater performance by Harztheater

A play for children based on the children's book of the same name by Michael Ende.

"An island with two mountains lies in the deep, wide sea, with tunnels and tracks and all the railway traffic" - that's Lummerland. It's home to all sorts of cheerful folk and an old, snorting steam engine called Emma. When King Alfons the Quarter-to-Twelve declares overpopulation and orders Emma to be scrapped, Lukas the engine driver and his little friend Jim Knopf simply won't stand for it. Emma belongs with them.

The three set off on an adventurous journey into the unknown - who the Wild 13 are, and how they rescue Princess Li Si from the clutches of the fearsome Mrs. Mahlzahn, Harztheater will show on 4 October 2026 at the Kultur- und Festspielhaus Wittenberge.
