Jim Knopf and Lukas the Engine Driver - theatre performance by Harztheater
Kultur- und Festspielhaus Wittenberge, Germany
22.5 €
A play for children based on the children's book of the same name by Michael Ende
"An island with two mountains lies in the deep, wide sea, with tunnels and tracks and all the railway traffic" - that's Lummerland. Lummerland is home not only to all sorts of cheerful people, but also to an old, puffing steam engine named Emma. One sunny day, King Alfons the Quarter-to-Twelve decides that the island is overpopulated and orders Emma to be disposed of. Lukas the engine driver and his little friend Jim Knopf cannot allow that - Emma belongs to them. And so the three set off on an adventurous journey into the unknown. Who they meet along the way, who the Wild 13 are, and how they rescue Princess Li Si from the clutches of the dangerous Mrs. Mahlzahn - all of this comes to life on 4 October 2026 at the Kultur- und Festspielhaus Wittenberge in an imaginative production by Harztheater.
