80 Years of Gitte Haenning

Gitte Haenning entered show business at the age of 8. Her first major German hit came in 1963 with "Ich will 'nen Cowboy als Mann". A Golden Record and further hits followed, including "Vom Stadtpark die Laternen", a duet with Rex Gildo that turned the two into the dream couple of the 1960s.

In the early 1980s she reinvented herself as a serious pop interpreter, and in the 1990s she made her mark as a musical theatre star - earning critical acclaim and a broader audience along the way. Big hits returned: "Ich bin stark" in 1982 and "Ich will alles" in 1983.

Throughout her career, Gitte Haenning has also made regular excursions into jazz and the folk music of her native Denmark. Her outstanding band will provide the perfect accompaniment.
