ŃOKO

ŃOKO opens the autumn season and the POLISH WEEKENDER at Jazzclub Tonne. The quartet from Gdańsk blends dark jazz, electronics, and psychedelic rock into a sound that works equally well at a jazz festival or in a techno club. Improvisation is the starting point - but instead of classical solos, hypnotic grooves, driving rhythms, and dense soundscapes take center stage.

The band features trumpeter Dawid Lipka, saxophonist and synthesizer player Michał Jan Ciesielski, double bassist and Moog specialist Maciej Sadowski, and drummer Tomasz Koper. Acoustic instruments merge with electronics and pulsing beats - ŃOKO doesn't hide jazz behind effects, but gives it its own contemporary form.

Their current album KO continues the path set by their debut Aurora: hypnotic tension arcs, pulsing patterns, and dense dramaturgy define the material. In concert, the set builds steadily, intensifies, and releases with a live energy that critics have described as an "explosion of energy".
