ŚLINA, a quartet from Wrocław, builds expansive soundscapes from jazz, krautrock, ambient textures, post-punk tension and psychedelic grooves. Drawing on the electric explorations of Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew", the ecstatic repetition of Can and Faust, and contemporary improvisation, the band shapes long-form compositions in the moment - through waves of noise, silence, pulse and dissolution.
For this concert the band is joined by Kasia Kapela: singer, violinist, performer and composer, known from projects such as Sutari and Kapela Timingeriu. She weaves traditional vocal techniques, ritual expression, movement and improvisation into a distinctive artistic language.
Together, free ecstasy meets archaic song, drone and feedback meet the human voice - Slavic, Eastern and contemporary influences in an evening that deliberately dissolves genre boundaries.
