Godewind - Christmas Tour 2026

Godewind sets sail once more and embarks on a fresh musical voyage with their new album "Wind vun achtern" along the North German coast. With a seasoned crew and heartfelt performance, a lively wind blows through their songs - traditionally in Low German, yet modern and captivating at the same time.
The album, entirely in Low German, opens with a catchy title track that has already become a staple in many radio programmes. Godewind impressively demonstrates how North German language and contemporary sounds blend into a distinctive musical experience.
At its heart lies the North German way of life and a deep love for the coast. Through atmospheric songs like "Mien See" - a touching ode to the sea - and "Küstenkinner", the band captures the soul of the North: honest, approachable, and full of heart.
Yet Godewind remains true to its roots: three classics have been newly arranged and recorded, including "Achter Dünen un Diek", which with its tales of village life behind the dike invites a chat with the neighbours.
Musically, songs like "Allens op root" and "Kummst Du mit mi na Huus" broaden horizons by blending country elements with humorous lyrics - as does "13 Decks", which recounts an unexpected cruise experience: instead of a classic cruise, a nudist ship is booked, and the captain greets in "Adam's costume" with tattooed stripes.
Particularly moving is the song "In dien Welt", which sensitively addresses dementia and coping with it - a quiet, personal moment on the album.
Following the Christmas album "Wenn es schneit" (2022), "Wind vun achtern" (2024) is the second work of the newly reformed line-up: alongside long-time band members Heiko Reese (drums and percussion) and Anja Bublitz (vocals), Gerrit Hoss (vocals, guitar) and Kai Lindner (keyboards) have been part of the crew since 2020. Together, they set forth once again with full force.
