Godewind - Christmas Tour 2026

Godewind sets sail once more, embarking on a fresh musical voyage along the North German coast with their new album "Wind vun achtern". With a seasoned crew and plenty of heart, a lively wind blows through their songs - rooted in Low German tradition, yet modern and infectious.
The entirely Low German album opens with the catchy title track, already a fixture on many radio stations. Godewind shows convincingly how the North German language and contemporary sounds can merge into a distinctive musical experience.
At the heart of it all lies the North German way of life and a deep love for the coastline. With evocative songs like "Mien See" - a heartfelt ode to the sea - and "Küstenkinner", the band captures the spirit of the North: honest, warm, and full of feeling.
Yet Godewind stays true to its roots: three classics have been newly arranged and recorded, including "Achter Dünen un Diek", whose stories of village life behind the dyke invite a good old chat with the neighbours.
Musically, songs like "Allens op root" and "Kummst Du mit mi na Huus" broaden the palette by blending country elements with humorous lyrics - as does "13 Decks", which tells of an unexpected cruise experience: instead of a classic voyage, a nudist steamer gets booked, and the captain greets guests in his "Adam's costume" with tattooed stripes ("Veer Striepen tätoweert").
Particularly moving is "In dien Welt", which deals sensitively with dementia - a quiet, personal moment on the album.
Following the Christmas album "Wenn es schneit" (2022), "Wind vun achtern" (2024) is the second release from the reformed line-up: alongside long-standing members Heiko Reese (drums and percussion) and Anja Bublitz (vocals), Gerrit Hoss (vocals, guitar) and Kai Lindner (keyboards) have been part of the crew since 2020. Together they head out again at full speed.
