Under the direction of composer Rafael Marino Arcaro, soprano Hannah Dienes-Williams and Ensemble Utak bring an extraordinary concert to Germany, consisting entirely of world premieres and spanning a century of Latin American music from 1927 to 2026. Works from Brazil, Chile, Peru, Cuba, and Mexico unite early modernism with contemporary voices in a cross-generational cultural encounter.

At the heart lies the premiere of "what i learned from manoel de barros: / o que aprendi com manoel de barros:", Marino Arcaro's setting of Manoel de Barros' poetry collection from 1998. This new work transforms the poet's language - marked by fragility - into a bold vocal soundscape and makes the quieter rural regions of Brazil tangible.
