Mozart Requiem
Evangelische Stadtkirche St. Reinoldi, Dortmund, Germany
12 €
The centrepiece of the evening is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem - a work of immense expressive power, moving between drama, lamentation and quiet inwardness. The programme also includes the Kyrie KV 341, a landmark choral composition from Mozart's Salzburg years, and the early "Misericordias Domini" KV 222.
As a counterpart, a choral-symphonic work by Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks will be performed. His music, built on clear sonic layers and striking intensity, brings a contemporary perspective to existential themes. The programme thus pairs classical sacred choral music with a modern sound world.
