Arktos, a terrible snowman, seeks to cover the world in ice. The old dragon Tyrion prepares his small son Tabaluga for his destined task - protecting the world. To do this, Tabaluga must find the True Fire, the only thing that can stop Arktos.

Tabaluga sets out on his journey with the help of a sorcerer. He faces many dangers, including the spider woman Tarantula, but also discovers beautiful things. He learns that the world, full of both good and evil, is worth saving. However, Arktos does not give up - from pure ice, he creates the beautiful girl Lilli, whose only task is to distract Tabaluga from his search for the True Fire.

Tabaluga falls in love with Lilli, as Arktos planned, but in doing so he discovers a great and beautiful power - love.
