Many do stand-up comedy. Stefan Verhasselt, marking his 20th year in cabaret, has chosen sit-down cabaret instead. He is known as "the Lower Rhine cabaret artist." Many also know him as the morning host of WDR4.

In his "Best of," Stefan Verhasselt philosophizes together with his audience in a witty, observant, and good-natured way about the quirks and absurdities of our society. Fans of linguistic peculiarities will encounter words and sentences in his 7th programme that suddenly take on entirely new meanings when listened to carefully. His passion for all things "Dutch" - like "Frikandel speciaal" and the like - will be richly served once again.

We learn, among other things, how dangerous rocket salad can be, what advantages "milk with skin" has over oat milk, and why heat pumps in front gardens now have to compete with grey electrical boxes on the pavement and often "complain" while doing so. The "Best of" also answers fundamental questions like this one: why do drivers always stop exactly half a meter before the traffic light loop, yet wonder why nothing moves forward in life?

Stefan Verhasselt's now-famous Lower Rhine great-aunts play a role again, and the fact that the sentence "I know the boss personally" has meanwhile turned into an eye-roll emoji is also discussed with a wink. The native of Straelen promises that in the new cabaret programme we will keep discovering ourselves anew. Anyone who can laugh at themselves is in the right place with Stefan Verhasselt and will experience an evening full of laughter, amazement, and associations. The cabaret artist has determined: "Days and weeks later, there are suddenly situations where the audience remembers this evening. That's truly sustainable, isn't it?"
