Bajazzo Bigband feat. Philip Lassiter: Brass & Beats - The Funk Explosion

The baJAZZo Bigband presents a concert at Bürgerhaus Rees featuring US trumpeter, arranger, and producer Philip Lassiter. Lassiter gained international recognition primarily as a longtime arranger for Prince and his band "The New Power Generation," and is regarded as a visionary at the intersection of jazz, funk, and gospel. An eleven-time award winner, he brings his brass sound from Nashville and Los Angeles directly to Rees.

The programme features Lassiter's own compositions and arrangements, known for their rhythmic complexity. The concert transcends the boundaries of a traditional bigband evening.

The baJAZZo Bigband is renowned for high-calibre collaborations, including work with the WDR-Bigband and Tom Gaebel, as well as projects ranging from classic swing to modern fusion experiments.
