Esther Hoppe - violin\nMáté Szűcs - viola\nChristian Poltéra - cello\nIstván Várdai - cello\nBen Goldscheider - horn\nSchaghajegh Nosrati - piano\nJuho Pohjonen - piano\n\nRobert Schumann: Andante and Variations for two pianos, two cellos and horn op. 46\nBohuslav Martinů: Duo No. 1 "Three Madrigals" H 313 for violin and viola\nRobert Schumann: Adagio and Allegro op. 70 for horn and piano\nAnton Arensky: String Quartet No. 2 in A minor op. 35\nRobert Schumann: Bilder aus Osten op. 66 for piano four hands\n\nArensky's quartet adds two cellos to the violin and viola, drawing out rich tonal colours from that unusual combination - abundance from constraint. Schumann here is more surprising and poetic than in his symphonies; chamber music seems to have set the spirit of its creators free.\n\nThe programme was assembled exclusively for Neumarkt, bringing together long-standing friends of the Reitstadel and artists appearing here for the first time. The concert opens the new season.\n\nSubscription series B and special concert. Changes to dates, programme and cast reserved.
