Arktos, a fearsome snowman, seeks to cover the world in ice. The old dragon Tyrion prepares his young son Tabaluga for his destined mission - to protect the world. To succeed, Tabaluga must find the True Fire, the only force capable of stopping Arktos. With a magician's help, the little dragon sets out on his quest.

Tabaluga faces many dangers, such as the spider woman Tarantula, but also discovers beautiful things. He learns that the world is worth saving. Yet Arktos does not give up - he creates a beautiful girl named Lilli from pure ice, whose sole purpose is to distract Tabaluga from his search.
