Plot summary:
Alfred Hellmann returns home after four weeks at a health spa - in high spirits and five kilos lighter. His reunion with wife Christiane is short-lived, however: he finds a pair of men's trousers in the wardrobe that aren't his. Did his wife have an affair while he was away?

It turns out his friends Simon Keller and Marcel Höfler have had the same experience - each of them has found a strange pair of trousers in their wardrobe too. All three are baffled! They look for a common thread and quickly land on a plumber named Eugen Efflinger. He does show a keen interest in Christiane, but she doesn't return it - and besides, the trousers found don't match his size at all.

When the men compare their finds, they make a horrifying discovery: the trousers seem to belong to each other. And the clothing confusion keeps spreading - the mayor finds the butcher's apron in his wife's car, Mrs Efflinger confronts her husband with an unknown blouse, which the plumber in turn identifies as Christiane's. Is someone playing a very elaborate prank?
