Landesjugendjazzorchester Baden-Württemberg - the state's select orchestra for young musicians

The Jugendjazzorchester Baden-Württemberg performs a wide-ranging programme spanning 80 years of big band history. It features contemporary European music alongside classic American jazz from bands such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Thad Jones. The young soloists of the ensemble are given plenty of room to improvise - because jazz is communication, regardless of musical context.

Vocal arrangements are also part of the repertoire: expect standards from the American Songbook as well as legendary pop songs by Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel. Their treatment ranges from classic big band style to more experimental soundscapes.
