Who's the Heidechampion - Dance Battle Festival 2026

"Who's the Heidechamp?" (WTH?) is a unique streetdance and breaking battle that has established itself as an authentic hip-hop festival in Uelzen. Building on last year's success, the event combines thrilling competitions, creative workshops, and a family-friendly atmosphere to make hip-hop culture accessible.

Last year, the festival attracted over 100 active participants and six successful workshops. In 2026, the offering expands to ten workshops, providing an even more diverse programme for different age groups and experience levels.

Cultural promotion is at the heart of the event: WTH? creates open access to hip-hop subculture and provides a platform for both young talents and experienced dancers to express themselves artistically. In a time marked by global crises, this creates a space for encounter, self-expression, and solidarity. Support for local talent is strengthened through exclusive categories for regional dancers, while participants from across the country and the world bring inspiration and exchange of experience.

Workshops in dance, DJing, and graffiti convey the values of hip-hop culture: respect, community, and creativity. Through close collaboration with local clubs and cultural institutions, WTH? becomes a sustainable driver of the dance scene in the Lüneburg Heath. "Who's the Heidechamp?" is more than a competition - it is a growing community that unites dance, culture, and creative youth support, establishing Uelzen as a cultural meeting point.
