Flens-Folk-Night - The Ceilidh Project feat. "4 hand reel"

The well-known band project led by Jörg Bernkopf (Scottish bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, diatonic accordion, various flutes, bodhran, mandolin, overtone singing, vocals) takes the stage in the festival barn at Gut Oestergaard, joined by Rainer Klosinsky on bass and Erik Frotscher, whose guitar beats and expressive voice are central to the project's distinctive sound.

The evening's programme spans traditional and contemporary sea songs and shanties alongside jigs, reels, hornpipes and slow airs - most of them composed by Jörg Bernkopf himself. Through his music, the artist draws a line from the Scottish Highlands to the flatlands of Schleswig-Holstein.

Following the "Piper Reed and Friends" concept, the project brings new guests this year: 4 hand reel, featuring Sören Krusemark (guitar, vocals) and Arne Gloe (accordion). Krusemark, based in Kiel, is appearing at Gut Oestergaard for the second year running. Over three decades he has shaped his style across many band line-ups and as a seasoned session musician, performing on stages at home and abroad. Irish and American song traditions and the fast dance melodies of jigs, reels and polkas have been his passion since youth.

Arne Gloe, originally from Neumünster, is a versatile accordionist at home in many styles. After studies in Berlin and Hamburg he has spent years contributing to high-profile projects across northern Germany, consistently making a lasting impression. His improvisational flair and strong rhythmic drive give his playing a poetic quality. The two share a long musical friendship.

The concert takes place in the Kulturscheune regardless of weather. The Gut Oestergaard team and event chef Manfred Weinmann will take care of the food and drinks!
