Concert and Reading with Songs by R.E.M. — Jahnhalle, Nordenham

The Bremen and Hamburg-based band Someday Jacob performs selected R.E.M. songs in partly reworked versions as part of The One I Love. "Losing My Religion", "Nightswimming", "Man On The Moon" - timeless music that people love to remember. Since 2012, Someday Jacob have stood for Americana with echoes of Neil Young. The specialist magazine INTRO called one of their works "the best folk-rock album ever released in Germany".

The evening is also a reading. Birgit Fuß, editor of the music magazine Rolling Stone for more than 20 years, has interviewed Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Patti Smith and more than 400 other fascinating people. She repeatedly had in-depth conversations with R.E.M. and finally published the book "R.E.M. - Life And How To Live It" in 2023. During The One I Love, the renowned German journalist reads from this book and shares stories of her encounters with the band.

Someday Jacob singer Jörn Schlüter has also been an editor at Rolling Stone for many years. On stage, a conversation unfolds about songs, stars and rock and roll. In this way, these evenings open a space for cherished memories, the soundtrack of one's own life - and for the love of music.
