What adventures Pinocchio gets into! One moment he was a wooden puppet, and now he is supposed to become a real boy. The woodcarver Gepetto once carved him from a pine log.

When Gepetto decides to sell the life-sized puppet at the market, the good fairy Antonella suddenly brings the wooden figure to life.

But being a real boy is no easy task. You have to go to school, face challenges - and above all, there is one thing you must never do: lie! That is exactly where Pinocchio struggles. How can he always be honest when the cunning fox Amadeo and the forgetful tomcat Cerubino keep luring him into traps? To avoid upsetting his father, Pinocchio invents the occasional little fib - but his fibs are plain to see right on his nose.

Pinocchio must overcome obstacle after obstacle before his deepest wish - to become a real boy - can come true. His thrilling journey takes him through a theatre, across golden fields and into dark corners, where he meets both treacherous characters and true friends. And while searching for his father Gepetto, he even gets swallowed by an enormous whale...

Carlo Collodi's world-famous story of Pinocchio - the little wooden puppet whose nose grows with every lie - is over a hundred years old. Christian Berg's musical, filled with humour and poetry and set to the wonderful melodies of celebrated songwriter Konstantin Wecker, brings the tale of the little marionette who comes to life to the stage.
