JC and the Tree - (AUS) - Folk-Rock, Roots (Seated Concert)

The folk-rock duo "JC and the Tree" hails from the coastal city of Sunshine Coast in Australia, drawing on a life lived close to nature. They write about life and all its complexities, with lyrics full of analogies and imagery from the natural world. Fans describe their style as intricate yet accessible. Floating violin lines, rich harmonies, piano and handcrafted acoustic guitars combine into a sound that is both grounded and transcendent - a heartfelt tapestry of folk, rock, roots, contemporary and more. The duo takes audiences on a journey across genres, winning them over with versatility and genuine craft. With two albums and six singles behind them, they are currently working on their third record. Driven by their love of nature, they have also made a point of offering ethically and sustainably produced merchandise.

JC and the Tree have an extensive touring history in Australia, where they have been working full-time as musicians for three years. Festival credits include the Woodford Folk Festival, the Airlie Beach Festival, the Caloundra Music Fest and many more. Founding member JC has been touring since the age of 19 and has played Glastonbury Festival (UK), WOMAD Festival (UK), Bluesfest (Australia) and Splendour in the Grass Festival (Australia) - six appearances in total. Lead singer Jesse built both of his acoustic guitars himself and is often found chatting with audience members after shows, listening to their stories. He sourced the timber himself after a tree fell during a cyclone and carried out every step from raw wood to finished instrument. He is passionate about sustainable timber sourcing for instrument making.
