The citizen sweetens life with pipe dreams. The government clueless - the people listless. Democracy heads for the hills and the farmer heads for the door. Boomers step into the shadows and the youth hasn't the faintest idea. We wait for the economic miracle and live through our own nightmare. Some feel like strangers in their own country; others act like they own the place. The chancellor shakes hands, the people shake their heads. Not with us - but with whom, then? Pointless?
