The Runrig Experience - Beat the Drum

Beat The Drum - The RunRig Experience is a tribute to the Scottish band RunRig, founded in 1973 on the Isle of Skye. The band built a loyal following not only in Scotland but also in Denmark and Germany, achieving multiple hit songs and releasing fourteen studio albums. Their music blends folk and rock, with lyrics exploring Scottish places, history, politics, and people - partly in Gaelic.

In 2016, the band announced their withdrawal from the studio. In 2017-2018, they undertook their farewell tour "The Final Mile". Their final concert, "The Last Dance", took place in August 2018 at Stirling City Park in front of approximately 52,000 fans.

Richie Muir, a singer and guitarist from Edinburgh now living in Nottingham and a lifelong RunRig fan, founded The RunRig Experience. The goal was not a conventional tribute band, but a show celebrating RunRig's music - authentic in sound, but above all as a remembrance of what the band meant to their fans.

Ben Marshall, a member of The RunRig Experience, describes it this way: "It's not just about filling the gap they left behind. It's about celebrating their music and their incredible contribution to the music industry, to Scotland as a whole, and to the small, meaningful moments in their fans' lives. We wanted a show where people can come, have fun, sing, dance, celebrate, and remember."
